UP board class 10 exams cancelled. UP board class 12 exams is proposed in second week of July if situation is under control. Duration for class 12 exams reduced to 1.5 hours from earlier 3.15 hours. Only three questions to be asked. Students of class 6,7,8, 9 and 11 to be promoted without examination.
Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Dr. Dinesh Sharma said the decision has been taken in view of the raging pandemic. It has also been decided to cancel the Class 10 board exams of Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad scheduled in 2021, he said.
Meanwhile, CISCE is also expected to announce decision on class 12 board exams soon. The SC on Monday will hear a petition filed by Advocate Mamta Sharma seeking directions from the Supreme Court to cancel board exams. The court will also consider the plea filed by a teacher from Kerala who has requested the apex court not to cancel the Class 12 board exam 2021 as it would be ‘unfair’ to Class 12 students. This year, around 30 lakh students were eligible to take class 10 board exams, however, high school students will now be promoted to their next session.
