120 Bahadur actor Farhan Akhtar and filmmaker Farah Khan share a long bond. They grew up together in the same home and spent most of their childhood side by side. In Farah’s latest YouTube vlog, the cousins sat down for an easy, fun chat. They laughed about old memories and also spoke about one moment they will never forget. It’s the day Javed Akhtar got angry over Farhan’s college admission.
Farhan Akhtar Struggled To Get College Admission After Poor Academic Score
Farah said Farhan was completely lost during his college years. He had no plan and was not focused on studies. She said, “When Sajid and I were small, Farhan’s mother gave us refuge and help. And we lived together for many years in Farhan’s house. When Farhan was in college, he was completely aimless. I am a witness because I had gone to get one college admission for him… while his marks were very poor.”
The real drama happened when they went to a college for his admission. Farah said the principal was rude and direct. She told them, “Main isko admission de rahi hoon because of Javed Akhtar saab, but actually he doesn’t deserve to be in this college.”
This comment embarrassed everyone. Farah said Javed Akhtar was very upset when he heard what the principal had said.
However, Farhan did not look sad or ashamed. Instead, on their way back, while passing Marine Drive, he asked his father to buy him masala bhel. That small request pushed Javed Akhtar over the edge. Already angry, he snapped and said, “Sharam nahi aate tumhe (Aren’t you ashamed?).”
That moment later turned into a classic family story they still enjoy telling.
Farhan has come a long way since then. He is now known for his strong performances and creative work. And he is now gearing up for the release of 120 Bahadur.
About 120 Bahadur
In the film, Farhan plays Major Shaitan Singh Bhati, a real-life war hero from the 1962 Indo-China war. The film is directed by Razneesh “Razy” Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment, along with Amit Chandrra of Trigger Happy Studios. The shoot took place across Ladakh, Rajasthan and Mumbai, giving the film a strong and authentic visual feel.
120 Bahadur releases on November 21, 2025. The makers have planned a special release for the defence community. The film will screen in more than 800 defence cinema halls across India. A source told Bollywood Hungama, “There are 1.5 million active soldiers and over six million viewers. But only 30 percent of India’s 20-million strong veteran and family audience has access to defense cinemas. We aim to expand the ecosystem to additionally reach the underserved 70% and we begin with a bang with 120 Bahadur, a film we know will deeply resonate with the forces.”
