The actor, who had earlier stepped away from the much-talked-about project, is now said to be closing the legal tension on a positive note. Fresh reports suggest that both sides are working towards an understanding after months of speculation and industry buzz.
Ranveer Singh Will Return Rs 10 Cr Signing Amount To Farhan Akhtar
According to Free Press Journal, Ranveer Singh is ready to return the Rs 10 crore signing amount to Farhan Akhtar. In addition, he is also open to giving a stake in his upcoming action film Pralay to Excel Entertainment, which is co-owned by Farhan Akhtar and Riteish Sidhwani. DON'T MISS
The dispute began after Farhan Akhtar revived the Don franchise with Ranveer Singh replacing Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role. The announcement teaser dropped in August 2023, creating massive discussion among fans. The film was initially planned for a December 2026 release.
However, reports later suggested internal disagreements and delays in production. Ranveer Singh eventually stepped away from Don 3, reportedly due to concerns over the script, lack of a bound screenplay and production planning issues. This exit triggered a legal and financial disagreement between both sides.
Farhan Had Asked For Rs 40 Cr Compensation
After Ranveer Singh’s exit, the situation escalated into a formal dispute. Reports claimed that Excel Entertainment sought around Rs 40 crore in compensation, citing pre-production costs and scheduling disruptions. The production house maintained that significant groundwork had already been done with Ranveer’s involvement.
The issue reportedly reached mediation, with industry bodies stepping in to help resolve the matter. There were also rumours of external intervention, though these were later denied by insiders. Despite the tension, both sides continued discussions behind the scenes.
Following the success of Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge, Ranveer Singh has been focusing on more selective projects. Industry reports suggest he is now prioritising structured scripts and long-term collaborations.
