Satluj, featuring Diljit Dosanjh, has at last arrived on OTT after almost three years of waiting. Yet, the online stint of this film is destined to be very short-lived as Satluj has been withdrawn just two days after its launch on Zee5, leaving its viewers surprised and discussing about it all over social media.

Long Journey of Satluj to OTT

The movie Satluj had suffered numerous delays even before its OTT launch. In fact, the film apparently could not see its release for more than three years on account of some production and distribution issues. The movie fans of Diljit Dosanjh were eagerly awaiting its release through OTT channel.

Removed Just Two Days After Release

The excitement, however, did not last long. Within just two days of its digital release, Satluj disappeared from Zee5’s catalogue. Many subscribers noticed that the title was no longer available on the platform, leading to questions about whether it had been withdrawn permanently or temporarily. The unexpected removal quickly became a trending topic across social media, with fans expressing disappointment over not being able to watch the film.

What Reportedly Led to the Removal?

The film’s removal was linked to concerns raised by government authorities over certain content in the movie. While no detailed public statement explaining the specific objections has been issued, reports indicate that Zee5 removed the film following these concerns.

What Irked the Govt?

According to media reports, the government reportedly raised concerns over certain aspects of Satluj, prompting its removal from Zee5 shortly after its release. However, the exact nature of these concerns has not been officially disclosed. Neither the government, Zee5, nor the filmmakers have issued a detailed statement explaining the reasons behind the decision, leaving the matter open to speculation.
