Aakhri Sawal Vs Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Box Office Collection Day 5: The box office clash between Aakhri Sawal and Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is slowly becoming one-sided as the two films continue their theatrical run with vastly different momentum. While Sanjay Dutt’s political courtroom drama is struggling badly at the ticket windows, Ayushmann Khurrana’s romantic comedy sequel is at least managing to stay afloat despite performing below expectations.

Both films were released with decent pre-release curiosity and familiar star power. However, the gap between their box office collections has become massive. Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is now inching closer to the Rs 25 crore mark in India, whereas Aakhri Sawal is finding it difficult to cross even Rs 3 crore domestically.

Sanjay Dutt’s Aakhri Sawal has failed to gain traction since its release. The film opened on a dull note and could not show any significant growth even during the weekend.

According to the latest figures reported by Sacnilk, the film earned around Rs 0.11 crore on Day 4. With this, its total India net collection stands at approximately Rs 2.06 crore so far.

The courtroom drama has recorded poor occupancy across most regions. Trade experts believe weak promotions, limited public buzz, and niche subject matter have severely impacted the film’s theatrical performance.

Despite featuring actors like Amit Sadh and Sameera Reddy alongside Sanjay Dutt, the film has struggled to create audience interest.

Meanwhile, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is performing comparatively better at the box office, although the film is still being labelled an underperformer considering the popularity of the original movie.

As per Sacnilk’s estimates, the romantic comedy collected approximately Rs 3.50 crore on Day 5. Its total India net collection has now reached around Rs 23.19 crore.

The film is expected to cross the Rs 25 crore milestone very soon. However, the sequel has not been able to recreate the strong theatrical response enjoyed by the first instalment, Pati Patni Aur Woh.

The original 2019 film starring Kartik Aaryan had opened at Rs 9.10 crore on Day 1 and later emerged as a successful box office performer. In comparison, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do opened with only Rs 4 crore, highlighting a major drop in audience excitement for the franchise.

What begins as an academic disagreement later turns into a national television debate involving themes like freedom of speech, political ideology, and historical controversies.

The film explores sensitive socio-political issues including the Emergency and the Babri Masjid demolition.

About Pati Patni Aur Woh Do

Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do serves as a spiritual sequel to the 2019 romantic comedy hit. The film stars Ayushmann Khurrana alongside Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh.
