Abhishek Bachchan is not letting social media gossip shake his peace of mind. Speaking in a new interview, the actor, who recently completed 25 years in Bollywood, made it clear that he knows what to take seriously and what to ignore. His calm response comes while divorce rumours with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan continue to stir online chatter.
Abhishek Bachchan Says He Is Unaffected By Social Media Chatter
Talking to Instant Bollywood, Abhishek said, “I have grown up in this film industry, so I also know what to take seriously and what not to take seriously. I don’t get affected by what’s happening in social media.”
His words seem to shut down the online noise, even though speculation around his personal life keeps grabbing attention.
Abhishek also spoke about how younger actors might deal with social media differently. He pointed to his nephew Agastya Nanda, who made his debut last year.
He shared, “Perhaps, Agastya, who has just started out as an actor, he might get [affected]… because the generation is like that. But with time, one also develops a thick skin. One has to know that it is not the be-all or end-all of life.”
Abhishek’s words reflect his protective nature toward the next-gen star of the Bachchan family. While he’s built a thick skin over time, he admits that the younger lot might still find it hard to deal with the online noise.
Divorce Rumours With Aishwarya Rai Sparked By Public Distance
The rumours first gained steam after Abhishek and Aishwarya were seen attending the Ambani wedding separately last year. Later, when Aishwarya posted pictures from daughter Aaradhya’s birthday, fans noticed that neither Abhishek nor the rest of the Bachchan family was in them.
Adding to the buzz, Abhishek was missing from the Cannes red carpet this year, where Aishwarya walked solo. Neither of them has spoken about the rumours so far. However, Amitabh Bachchan did seem to address it subtly in a blog post by saying, “Speculations are speculations .. they are speculated untruths, without verifications.”
Talking about his work front, Abhishek is currently appearing in his latest film Kaalidhar Laapata, which premiered on Zee5 on July 4. He plays an elderly man who runs away from his family after feeling abandoned. His life takes a turn when he meets a lively eight-year-old boy named Ballu, bringing fresh meaning to his lonely world.
