Actress reveals: Tejaswini Pandit, a Marathi actress, recently spoke up about a humiliating encounter she had while renting an apartment in Pune years ago, while she was trying to advance her career. In an interview with Soumitra Pote for his podcast Mitramhane, the actress alluded to a corporator who owned the property supposedly proposing a trade-off involving sexual favours.

Tejaswini recalls the incident
“It was around 2009-10 and I used to stay in a rental apartment on Sinhagad Road (in Pune). At that time, only one or two movies of mine had been released. The apartment was owned by a corporator. When I reached his office to pay rent, he made a direct offer to me… There was a glass of water on the table, I picked it up and threw it on his face. I did not enter this profession to do such things, or else I would not have stayed in a rental apartment. I would have brought homes and cars and whatnot,” she remembered.
It was a combination of two things, Tejaswini, who is now promoting her brand-new web series Athang, continued. They made assumptions about me based on my line of work and my precarious financial situation. For me, it was a teaching moment.

Tejaswini’s journey as an actress
Tejaswini, the actress Jyoti Chandekar’s daughter, made her screen debut in Aga Bai Arrecha! in 2004. She and her friend Santosh Kher established their own production company, Creative Vibe. Bamboo, which was written by Ambar Hadap and is being directed by Vishal Devrukhkar, will be the first film in the project.
