Amid Diljit Dosanjh’s Sardaar Ji 3 Controversy, Priyanka Chopra Poses With Pak Filmamaker, What’s On Cards?

While Diljit Dosanjh is in the spotlight over Sardaar Ji 3, Priyanka Chopra is getting attention for her recent meeting with Pakistani-Canadian filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy. The Heads of State star was seen spending time with Sharmeen and director Mira Nair during a casual outing in the US.

Sharing happy moments from the meet-up on Instagram, Priyanka wrote, “A wonderful afternoon spent in August company ❤️.” 

In another post, she added, “Mazaaaaaa ayaaa.” Her manager, Anjula Acharia, also shared the pictures with the hashtag “#borderlessbunch.” The photos quickly went viral, with fans wondering if a future project is on the cards.

Family's Support For Heads Of State Screening

Back in India, Priyanka’s family organised a screening of her new film. She re-shared a photo posted by sister-in-law Neelam Upadhyaya, featuring her brother Siddharth Chopra and mother Madhu Chopra. PeeCee wrote, “When your family hosts a screening back home. FOMO. Miss you all.”

After her brunch outing, Priyanka returned home to her daughter, Malti Marie. She posted a selfie with her little one, calling the moment “Dream 😍.” Fans loved the candid mom-daughter vibe.

Priyanka Chopra: Work Front

Priyanka’s action-comedy Heads of State (directed by Ilya Naishuller) premieres on Prime Video on July 2. The movie stars John Cena and Idris Elba alongside her and promises full-on entertainment.

She will also be seen in The Bluff, where she plays a 19th-century Caribbean pirate. Priyanka is also returning in Citadel 2, but the new season has been delayed until spring 2026. Reports also suggest that she has joined SS Rajamouli’s next big film opposite Mahesh Babu.

About Diljit Doisanjh Controversy

For the unversed, Diljit Dosanjh is facing backlash for casting Pakistani actress Hania Aamir in his upcoming film Sardaar Ji 3. The controversy broke out after the trailer dropped, as tensions between India and Pakistan remain high following recent attacks. The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) even demanded his citizenship be revoked. As a result, the film is not being released in India and is only being screened overseas.

Despite the criticism, many have come out in support of Diljit. BJP leaders RP Singh and Hobby Dhaliwal called him a “national asset”. Veteran writer Javed Akhtar also backed the actor, saying the film was made before the recent crisis and urged people to understand the timing and context.
