Border 2: Sunny Deol to Return With Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh, Shooting Commences; Check Release Date

Border 2: Months after its initial announcement in June of this year the much anticpated sequel has finally begun shooting. Starring Sunny Deol as his iconic character Major Kuldeep Singh, the film has been in the talks for a couple months. Apart from Deol reprising his role, the film will also feature Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty. A new picture from the set of Border 2 is circulating online, let's have a look at it.

Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh Begin Border 2 Shoot

According to reports online, Border 2 has officially begun shooting today (24th December 2024). Directed by Anurag Singh and written by Nidhi Dutta the film will star the Gadar actor with Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh also in key roles. Also among the announced cast members is Ahan Shetty, the son of veteran actor Suniel Shetty.

What is the Border 2 Release Date and Story?

In his recent post on X, Taran Adarsh revealed the Border 2 release date. In his post he mentions that the Sunny Deol starrer will release in theatres on 26th January 2026. He also mentions the film to be ‘India’s biggest war film.’ However, as of now nothing is known about the story of the film.

How Has Sunny Deol's Film Career Been In The Recent Years?

In recent years, the Border actor has been actively starring in new films. Beginnings his career resurgence with the sequel of his classic film Gadar: Prem Katha in the form of Gadar 2 released in 2023. Directed by Anil Sharma, the sequel went on to do great numbers at the box office with over Rs. 600 crores in box office collection. After that the veteran actor went on to sign multiple films. One of them being his upcoming film Jaat directed by Gopichandh Malineni releasing in 2025.

Moreover, his co-stars Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh are also on a career high recently. Varun is gearing up to release his action film Baby John directed by Kalees and Diljit is the talk of every town due to his Dil-Lumiati tour.
