As Fawad Khan turns 41, a look back at his Zindagi Gulzar Hai days

Fawad Khan: Pakistani actor Fawad Khan, who turns 41 on Tuesday November 29, needs no introduction. As Zaroon Junaid, he wooed Indians like nobody had done till Zindagi Gulzar Hai was aired on Indian television in September 2014.

Zee had just launched its new channel Zee Zindagi, which aired Pakistani shows. A whole new genre of TV shows opened up for Indian viewers who were till then mostly dealing with kitchen politics. They wanted to watch something different and something unsullied. Zindagi Gulzar came like a breath of fresh air and swept Indians off their feet.

As the actor celebrates his birthday today, here is taking a look at Zindagi Gulzar Hai that made him a household name in India.

Fawad’s star moment in India

With Zindagi Gulzar Hai, Fawad became a household name in Indian homes. His boyish looks, his suave style, his charming sming smile, he literally had Indians eating out of his hand.

Based on the novel of the same name by Umera Ahmad, the serial was first telecast in Pakistan in 2012. The story revolved around two people, opposite in thoughts and financial status, and had a strong female protagonist, contributing to its popularity amongst women.

The actor left Indians star-struck with the show. They had just gotten hooked to the show when Bollywood launched him in Khoobsurat opposite Sonam Kapoor. The timing was great and perhaps resulted in boosted the interest around his debut film. Fans drooled over him in Kapoor And Sons. He was last seen in Karan Johar’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. There has been no Indian project for him since then.

Stayed away from big screen for 6 years

After his exit from Bollywood, his fans are dying to see him in action again.

He has stayed away from the big screen for nearly six years. The Humsafar actor made a comeback with The Legend of Maula Jatt opposite Mahira Khan. It was released in October. The actor won laurels for his performance in the film.

The actor also played an important role in Disney Plus Hotstar Ms Marvel and fans cannot get enough of him.
