Avatar 3 Box Office Collection Day 4: James Cameron’s Film Slips To Single-Digit, Will Things Get WORSE After Kartik Aaryan Starrer TMMTMTTM Hits Theatres?

Avatar 3 box office collection drops to single digits on Day 4 after a sharp weekday fall in India. With screen cuts expected due to a new release, the James Cameron film now faces a tough road ahead.

Avatar 3 Box Office Collection Day 4: James Cameron’s Avatar 3 (Avatar: Fire and Ash) is playing in cinemas, and global audiences are praising its scale and visuals. The third film in the iconic sci-fi franchise brings a darker tone, new conflicts and breathtaking visuals. Internationally, the film is already being seen as one of Hollywood’s biggest releases as 2025 comes to an end.

In India, expectations were high before release. Trade analysts believed the film could challenge (or even beat) the box office wave created by Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar. However, the initial days have shown that it won’t. While Avatar 3 is still in its opening phase, it has not matched the hype seen around recent Indian blockbusters.

On Day 4, which marked its first Monday, Avatar: Fire and Ash earned Rs 8.55 crore at the Indian box office. This pushed the film into single-digit territory much earlier than expected. As per rough industry estimates from Sacnilk, the film saw a sharp drop of nearly 66.80 percent compared to its previous day.

Such weekday drops are not unusual for big Hollywood releases. Footfalls often fall once the weekend ends. However, what has raised eyebrows is the comparison with Dhurandhar. Ranveer Singh’s film stayed strong even on its third Monday, while Avatar 3 slipped to single digits on Day 4 itself.

This trend has led to fresh concerns about the film’s short-term box office future in India. If collections do not show a sharp jump in the coming days, the situation could turn tougher. The challenge becomes bigger as screens are set to be reduced by nearly 30 percent to make way for Kartik Aaryan’s upcoming romantic comedy Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri. With fewer shows and growing competition, the pressure is clearly on.

On its first Monday, Avatar: Fire and Ash recorded uneven but steady interest across formats and languages. The Hindi 3D version saw an overall occupancy of 19.43 percent. Evening and night shows performed better, touching 23.83 percent and 25.26 percent.

The English 3D version also held steady with an overall occupancy of 18.92 percent. Major cities continued to show interest. Bengaluru and Chennai stood out, especially for Hindi 3D shows. Occupancy levels there peaked at around 29 percent and a strong 65 percent respectively.

In regional markets, Telugu 3D screenings recorded 17.37 percent occupancy, while Tamil 3D shows stood at around 19.26 percent. Late-night shows across India remained the most popular. This suggests that working professionals and adult audiences are still choosing the film, even on weekdays.

About Avatar: Fire And Ash

Avatar: Fire and Ash explores a darker side of Pandora. The story follows Jake Sully and Neytiri’s family as they face a new threat from the Ash People. This volcanic Na’vi tribe is led by Varang, played by Oona Chaplin. Unlike earlier clans, this group is shown as aggressive and power-hungry.

The film continues the events after The Way of Water. It focuses on grief, survival, and growing conflict between humans and multiple Na’vi factions. The cast includes Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang and Kate Winslet. New faces include Oona Chaplin, David Thewlis and Michelle Yeoh.

The film is reportedly made on a massive budget of $350–400 million. Its runtime of over three hours makes it the longest Avatar film so far. While visuals remain its biggest strength, its Indian box office journey now depends on weekday growth and word of mouth.

The next few days will decide whether Avatar 3 can recover or if things truly get worse.
