The James Cameron-directed film made between Rs 41 crore on first Friday. This makes Avatar 2 the second-highest box office opener in the Indian market, trailing only the 2019 movie Avengers: Endgame, which made Rs 53.10 crore on its first day. The science-fiction drama surpassed Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness in India in just three days.

According to reports, James Cameron’s film continues seeing huge drop on Weekdays as the film collected approx. Rs. 15.25 crores on Day 6 (Wednesday) in India. However, it’s not a major drop in the collections but if we compare to the first weekend collection of Avatar 2 then the film has to pick up pace to surpass 200-crore mark soon. Avatar: The Way of Water is enjoying a solo run and the total collection stands nearly Rs 180 crores.
