10 years back Irrfan Khan's Lunchbox made a stunning entry at the BAFTA 2015. Being a 2013 flick it was nominated in 2015. But, it could not triumph over the award. After 10 years, nominated in the same category, Payal Kapadia's All We Imagine as Light experienced the same fate. The film was one of the nominated films for Best Film Not in English language but France's Emilia Pérez knocked India's story out and grabbed the award. This happened the third time as Emilia Pérez won Golden Globes and Critics Choice Awards too against Payal's film.

BAFTA Awards 2025 definitely came off as a strong base for the entertainment industry. With films winning equivalent awards to a fresh talent beating a veteran, surprises were shining last night. Talking about the winners, The Brutalist and Conclave, both won 4 Awards this year and rocked the stage. Followed by Conclave grabbing the Best Film Award, The Brutalist Brady Corbet winning Best Director and Mikey Madison grabbing Best Actress award over Demi Moore making it an upset. Adrien Brody clinched the best leading actor and Kieran Culkin and Zoë Saldaña won Best Supporting Actor and Actress respectively.
Overall, the award ceremony was full of surprises. Even though it brought disappointment to Indian fans but grabbed worldwide attention for an interesting approach.
