Batwara 1947 Vs Awarapan 2 Box Office Collection Day 8: The box office battle between Emraan Hashmi‘s Awarapan 2 and Sunny Deol‘s Batwara 1947 has turned into a one-sided contest as both films step into their second weekend. On Day 8, Awarapan 2 added an estimated ₹5.50 crore net in India, pushing its total domestic net collection to around ₹119 crore. Including taxes, the film’s India gross has climbed to roughly ₹141.87 crore. Overseas markets have also stayed loyal to the film, contributing close to ₹27.30 crore so far. Add it all up, and Awarapan 2’s worldwide total now stands at approximately ₹169.17 crore just a whisker away from the ₹170 crore milestone. Trade watchers believe a good Saturday could help the film smash past that number with ease, especially since it still has a clear run before Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups opens on August 26.

Batwara 1947 Struggles To Stay Afloat

The story is very different for Batwara 1947. Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta’s period drama, which had a promising start thanks to an Independence Day boost, has seen its numbers crash hard in the second week. On Day 8, the film managed only around ₹75 lakh net in India, taking its overall domestic net total to close to ₹34.35 crore. The film’s worldwide gross now sits at approximately ₹49.02 crore, still short of even the ₹50 crore mark, a modest figure compared to its rival. After a strong opening weekend, collections for Batwara 1947 fell sharply once the holiday rush faded, and the film has struggled to recover since.

What This Means For Both Films

The gap between the two films has now widened into a clear verdict. Awarapan 2 is being counted among the year’s biggest hits, while Batwara 1947 is being viewed by trade insiders as a significant underperformer despite its starry cast and Aamir Khan’s production banner. With Toxic set to arrive soon, both films are racing against time, Awarapan 2 to chase bigger milestones, and Batwara 1947 to salvage whatever business it still can before a new release changes the game entirely.
