Bell Bottom Box Office Day 4: The 15 crore mark could not be crossed at the box office

Sunday brought a sigh of relief for actor Akshay Kumar, who is called the biggest brand of Hindi cinema. His new film ‘Bellbottom’ was seen benefiting from the Sunday holiday and Rakshabandhan festival, but the audience still did not come out of the houses in the same numbers as the Hindi film industry has expected. The film distributors and exhibitors, who were expecting the first weekend collection of Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Bellbottom’ to be shot during the Corona period, have been hit the hardest by this. Due to the sluggish business of the film ‘Bellbottom’, the multiplication of the dates of all the mega budget films which are preparing for release in the coming months has started afresh. Eight more films of Akshay Kumar are in various stages of production these days and their release may also face trouble due to the failure of the film ‘Bellbottom’ to do business as expected.

Akshay Kumar is said to be in Britain these days. There he has started shooting for his new film ‘Cinderella’ by Vashu Bhagnani, the same producer of the film ‘Bellbottom’ with Rakul Preet Singh and Chandrachud Singh. Among his films that have been on the way to release, the film ‘Sooryavanshi’ is waiting for completion for almost one and a half years. The shooting of Yash Raj Films’ film ‘Prithviraj’, Sajid Nadiadwala’s film ‘Bachchan Pandey’ and Aanand L Rai’s film ‘Atrangi Re’ have also been completed. Apart from ‘Cinderella’, other films which are currently being shot include ‘Ram Setu’, ‘Raksha Bandhan’ and ‘OMG 2’. These days around 1500 crores of Hindi film industry is being spent on Akshay Kumar.

The audience response to the film ‘Bellbottom’ has not been good after the truth of the way ‘Bellbottom’ was promoted as a fictional story inspired by a true incident. On Sunday, the film’s collection was estimated by the film trade to be between five and six crore rupees, but this collection could not go above five crores. This despite that people were in a festive mood on this day. According to an estimate, the film ‘Bellbottom’ earned around Rs 4.85 crore on Sunday.

The film ‘Bellbottom’ has so far earned about Rs.3 crore on the first and second day, about Rs.3 crore on the third day and about Rs.5 crore on the fourth day. Even after getting four days for business in the first weekend, the film ‘Bellbottom’ has become a problem for the film industry, not being able to cross the first weekend figure of Rs 15 crore. There is absolutely no hype about Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi’s ‘Chehre’ coming Friday and if the first weekend of the film crosses even 10 crores, then it will be a relief news, but it does not seem so.

The release of Jr NTR and Ram Charan’s film ‘RRR’, which is going to release on October 13, has been postponed indefinitely due to the business of the film ‘Bellbottom’ not being up to expectations. Not only this, the discussion about the release dates of Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited film ‘Sooryavanshi’ and ‘Prithviraj’ has also slowed down due to this reason.
