Bhool Chuk Maaf Audience Review

Bhool Chuk Maaf has finally hit theatres after weeks of delays, legal battles and controversy. But the Rajkummar Rao starrer hasn’t made a smooth landing. Early audience reactions are mixed, with some praising its quirky plot and others calling it forgettable.

Directed by Karan Sharma and produced by Maddock Films, the film blends romantic comedy with a time-loop twist. Rajkummar Rao plays Ranjan, a small-town groom who finds himself stuck reliving the same chaotic wedding day. Wamiqa Gabbi plays the bride-to-be, with veterans like Sanjay Mishra, Seema Pahwa and Raghubir Yadav adding weight to the cast.

Bhool Chuk Maaf Audience Review

The concept sparked interest, but viewers say the film loses its grip after a promising start. Social media is now full of hot takes and lukewarm praise.

One user on X shared, “Bhul Chuk Maaf... Has Maddock Films Become Overconfident? Raghubir Yadav genuinely feels like the real hero of this film. Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, in comparison, seem dull and unimpressive.”

Another viewer wrote, “Timepass. Despite being a comedy movie, it’s not entertaining, but it’s a good one-time watchable movie.”

A more positive review read, “A feel-good tale with entertaining moments and some good humour... Loses grip post-interval, but the solid finale redeems it... Good watch!!”

Influencer Sumit Kadel didn’t like the film. He wrote, “Audience Khud Se Maafi Mangegi Yeh Film Dekhne K baad..” and rated the movie just 1.5 stars.

How Is The Film

Many feel that Bhool Chuk Maaf wastes its creative premise. The time-loop, which should have added fast-paced humour, arrives late and fails to add spark. While Rao delivers energy and Gabbi adds charm, the script stretches thin with emotional drama that drags.

Some viewers liked the feel-good moments and praised the deeper themes of faith and morality. They also noted that the finale helps lift the otherwise slow second half.

Despite the mixed reception, Maddock Films has brought back its low-ticket-price strategy, similar to what they did for Sky Force. It’s unclear if that will help boost the box office, but the producers are clearly hoping it draws in more footfall.

In the end, Bhool Chuk Maaf offers a watchable ride with ups and downs. It has its moments, but the film doesn’t hit hard enough to become a genre standout. Most viewers agree that it’s a “one-time watch” at best.
