Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 7: Sunny Deol’s Border 2 hit cinemas with huge fanfare this Republic Day week. Riding on patriotic hype and the legacy of the original 1997 classic, expectations were high.
While the film opened strong, Day 7 box office numbers show the sequel has lost momentum, raising questions about its staying power in theatres. Weekend collections will now be crucial for its long-term success.
Border 2 Box Office Collection Day 7
According to sources, Border 2 earned Rs 11.25 crore on Day 7, bringing its India net total to ₹224.25 crore by Thursday, seven days after release.
Despite this impressive figure, it marks a third consecutive day of decline, which means a hat-trick slump. After a blockbuster opening and extended holiday boost, the mid-week drop indicates the film’s early slowdown.
The most direct comparison is with Gadar 2, another patriotic blockbuster that dominated the box office in 2023. While Border 2 crossed Rs 200 crore in its first week, its Week 1 total of Rs 224.25 crore is about 21% below Gadar 2’s Rs 284.63 crore.

DON'T MISS
The film stars Sunny Deol alongside Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahan Shetty, with supporting roles from Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana and Anya Singh. With an estimated budget of Rs 175–275 crore, it ranks among the most expensive Indian war films, and its runtime of 199 minutes (3 hours 19 minutes) makes it one of the longest recent Hindi releases.
Since its January 23 release, Border 2 crossed Rs 300 crore globally within the first week. The film recorded a strong opening day of over Rs 30 crore in India, although weekday collections have slowed slightly. Its digital rights are with Netflix, with streaming expected 6–8 weeks after the theatrical run.
