Box Office Collection: ‘Gadar 2’ crosses Rs 250 crore mark on Day 6; Defies midweek slump with impressive Rs 34.50 crore earning

Box Office Collection: Gadar 2, the sequel to the iconic film ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, starring Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel in the lead roles, continues its victorious march despite a working Wednesday. The movie’s sixth-day collection surged to an impressive Rs 34.50 crore in India, propelling the film’s total earnings to a staggering Rs 263.48 crore, thereby officially marking its entry into the coveted Rs 200 crore club.

Gadar 2 holds strong even on weekday

Gadar 2’s extraordinary performance on its sixth day was even more remarkable due to the fact that it was a working day. Despite this hurdle, the movie managed to achieve an overall occupancy rate of 56.09%. Notably, the evening and night shows became the driving force, with occupancy rates of 69.50% and 70.91%, respectively.

Gadar 2 embarked on its theatrical journey with an explosive start, amassing Rs 40.1 crore on its opening Friday. The momentum carried through to the next day, with collections escalating by 7.43% to reach Rs 43.08 crore. The film’s allure reached its zenith on Sunday, as it experienced a remarkable 20.01% surge, resulting in a monumental yield of Rs 51.7 crore.

However, a temporary dip occurred on the fourth day, with a decline of 25.15%, bringing in a collection of Rs 38.7 crore on Monday. Nevertheless, the film’s resilience shone through with an astonishing 43.15% resurgence on Tuesday, coinciding with Independence Day, amassing Rs 55.40 crore.

Sunny Deol and Ameesha Patel’s chemistry strikes gold once again

The sequel, set against the backdrop of the 1971 Indo-Pak war, follows the indomitable Tara Singh (Sunny Deol) and his wife Sakeena (Ameesha Patel) in a harmonious marriage. Their son Charan Jeet Singh, now portrayed by Utkarsh Sharma, embarks on a perilous journey to Pakistan, leading to a gripping narrative of courage and determination. Tara Singh’s relentless pursuit to save his son adds depth to the story, resonating with audiences on both sides of the border.
