BTS Member Jimin Becomes The Top Korean Artist While Serving Military; Check How?

The South Korean boy band artist Jimin, who garnered worldwide fame for his time in BTS is making headlines. The artist who took a break from music to serve his mandatory time in the South Korean military recently becme ‘Spotify Wrapped Cake Artist’ of 2024. This honour comes for Jimin's second solo album Muse, which was released in July of this year.

Jimin Released Music For His Fans From Military

Following his monstrous success with the boy band BTS, Jimin fans were distressed when they heard that the artist would have to take a break from music. This comes as per regulations which mandate people his age to serve in the military. So, in late 2023, he and his bandmate Jungkook were sent for their mandatory service. 

However, despite the minor setback, the South Korean artist was more than prepared for this moment with his management company Big Hit Music. During Jimin’s time in the military, his label released a pre-recorded tv show 'Are You Sure?!' along with his second solo album Muse.

With their pre-recorded show and a full album, Big Hit Music managed to keep BTS fans engaged. On top of that Muse went on to do big numbers globally with the single Who from the album topping the Billboard global charts. As a result of this carefully crafted plan, Jimin managed to win Spotify Korea’s ‘Korea Top Artist 2024,’ ‘Korea Top Album of 2024’ and ‘Korea Top Song of 2024.’

 When Is BTS Coming Back With More Music?

As of now, all seven members of the band are serving their mandatory time in the military. With news of all the members uniting after Jimin and Jungkook return in mid next year, more music from BTS in 2025 is a possibility. However, as of now, all of it is speculation. It will be interesting to see when the band reunites and what energy they bring to the music industry.
