A Varun Dhawan fan recently complained about his brief appearance during a promotional event in Lucknow. The actor, who is currently promoting his upcoming film Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai, responded personally after the fan claimed that she had waited nearly five hours to meet him, only for the event to end within minutes.

The incident took place at Phoenix Mall in Lucknow, where Varun arrived alongside Mrunal Thakur to promote their upcoming romantic drama. Videos from the event quickly surfaced online, showing hundreds of excited fans gathered at the venue long before the actors arrived. However, several attendees later expressed disappointment over the short duration of the appearance.

Varun Dhawan Responds As Female Fan Complains About His Short Visit

An Instagram user named Divyanshi Tiwari, who goes by the handle @unfiltered_divaaaa, shared a video online talking about her experience at the event. In her post, she claimed that fans had waited for hours hoping to meet Varun Dhawan and get autographs, but the actor stayed only briefly before leaving. The fan wrote, “We waited for 5 hours and he came for just 5 min.”

The post soon gained attention online and eventually caught Varun Dhawan’s eye. Unlike many celebrities who ignore criticism on social media, Varun directly responded to the fan and apologised for the situation. Explaining why he had to leave early, the actor replied, “Sorry, I couldn’t give an autograph. We were made to leave a lil early by the cops.”

Several fans defended Varun Dhawan after his clarification, while others continued questioning the management of the event.

One user commented, “Why did u not tell the cops ki itne time bad Lucknow aya hu at least kuch time to mil lene deejiye. We waited for a long.”

Another user mocked the complaint and wrote, “Aur kya ghar tak chodne jata?”
