Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has landed in controversy after criticising the song “Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke” and blaming Bollywood for promoting vulgarity. The comment quickly turned into a debate online after many users pointed out that the song is not from a Bollywood film but from a South Indian multi-language project. The video has now gone viral on social media.

The song features Nora Fatehi and Sanjay Dutt, and is part of the upcoming film KD: The Devil, a Kannada-language action film that will release in multiple languages. The track was released recently and quickly started trending online because of its bold lyrics and dance visuals.

Kangana Ranaut Speaks On Vulgarity Row, Targets Bollywood

Speaking to the media outside Parliament, Kangana criticised the song and said the film industry is crossing limits in the name of entertainment. She said stricter rules are needed to control such content.

“Bollywood has crossed all limits with vulgarity, tactics, and attention-seeking. The entire country is condemning and reprimanding them. But I don’t think they have any shame…,” Kangana said.

She further added, “There needs to be even more strictness about the display of such vulgarity and obscenity…I think some strict rein will have to be put on Bollywood…”

Actress Gets Trolled For Her Statement

Soon after her statement went viral, many social media users pointed out that the song she criticised is not from Bollywood. This led to trolling online, with several users accusing her of blaming the Hindi film industry without checking facts.

One user wrote, “Retard doesn’t even know that’s from south, just wants to blame everything on Bollywood.”
Another commented, “It’s not a Bollywood song madam. Someone please tell her.”
A third wrote, “It isn’t a Bollywood movie song, it is Kannada industry movie and the dub version has this song in Hindi. Stop spewing venom against the industry who gave you everything.”

Some users also reminded her of her own past roles. One comment read, “Emraan Hashmi ke saath apne kiss scene bhul gi Gangster mein ?”

Before Kangana’s statement, singer Armaan Malik had also reacted to the song on social media. He clarified that the track was not from Bollywood and said the lyrics shocked him. He mentioned that he replayed the clip because he could not believe what he heard, and said commercial songwriting seems to have reached a new low.

The controversy has now reached a legal forum as well. Advocate Vineet Jindal filed a complaint asking for action against the song. The complaint has been sent to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting for review.

According to the complaint, the song contains “highly vulgar, sexually suggestive, and obscene expressions.” It also says the picturisation and dance moves are provocative and may disturb public decency. The track is available on YouTube and is widely shared on social media, which has increased the debate further.

Despite the backlash, the controversy has brought more attention to the film. KD: The Devil is set to release on April 30, and the song debate has already created strong buzz around the movie.
