Deepika Padukone is back in the spotlight after reports claimed she will use a body double for major action scenes in her upcoming film Raaka. The actress, who recently announced that she is expecting her second child with husband Ranveer Singh, is said to be avoiding risky stunt sequences during pregnancy. The news has triggered strong reactions from netizens.
Deepika Padukone reportedly still has around 50 days of shoot left for Atlee’s much-awaited project Raaka, starring Allu Arjun. While many expected production delays, fresh reports suggest the makers have adjusted the filming plan and are continuing the schedule smoothly.
Deepika Padukone Action Scenes To Be Completed With VFX
According to a Bollywood Hungama report, director Atlee quickly came up with a backup plan after learning about Deepika’s pregnancy.
The source shared, “Atlee was overjoyed when he heard the news of Deepika’s pregnancy. Instead of panicking on his shoot schedule, he sat down with his team and came up with a plan B. Most of the key action sequences featuring Deepika Padukone will now be done using her body double. The actress has already given some close-up sequences, and the same will be merged using VFX for the final print.”
The film reportedly features Deepika Padukone in a powerful action role. However, the team does not want to take any health risks at this stage.
The insider further added, “Deepika has a stellar entry, as also a big action moment with Allu Arjun. All of those will now be done by a double, whereas Deepika will continue to shoot the dramatic moments. Her role stays intact, with no deletion whatsoever. She is a key protagonist of Raka and nothing changes due to pregnancy.”

The action thriller marks her reunion with Shah Rukh Khan and also stars Suhana Khan. Reports suggest the makers of King have also fast-tracked Deepika’s portions, including songs and action scenes.
Deepika Padukone will play action-heavy characters in both upcoming films. In the sci-fi fantasy Raaka, she reportedly plays a “warrior princess” in an alternate reality. The role is said to include an “explosive entry” and intense combat sequences alongside Allu Arjun.
Meanwhile, in King, Deepika reportedly appears in an extended cameo as the ex-lover of Shah Rukh Khan’s assassin character and the mother of his protege, played by Suhana Khan.
