Dharmendra Death: Hema Malini Pens Raw, Moving Tribute To Her Everything, Says ‘My Loss Is Indescribable And…’

Hema Malini has shared an emotional tribute to her late husband Dharmendra. She posted a heartfelt note on X and called him her “everything.” This is her first reaction since the legendary actor died on 24 November at the age of 89.

Dharmendra died in Mumbai days after he was discharged from Breach Candy Hospital. His death shocked the film industry and millions of fans. For Hema Malini, the loss is personal and painful. She said the bond they shared shaped her life for more than 40 years.

Hema Malini Bids Emotional Farewell To Late Dharmendra

In her lengthy note, she wrote, “He was many things to me. Loving Husband, adoring Father of our two girls, Esha & Ahaana, Friend, Philosopher, Guide, Poet, my ‘go to’ person in all times of need – in fact, he was everything to me! And always has been through good times and bad. He endeared himself to all my family members with his easy, friendly ways, always showing affection and interest in all of them.”

She also spoke about Dharmendra’s legacy and added, “As a public personality, his talent, his humility in spite of his popularity, and his universal appeal set him apart as a unique icon unequalled among all the legends. His enduring fame and achievements in the film industry will last forever.”

Her message ended on a heartbreaking note. She said, “My personal loss is indescribable, and the vacuum created is something that will last through the rest of my life. After years of togetherness, I am left with myriad memories to relive the many special moments…”

About Their Relationship

Dharmendra and Hema Malini first met on the sets of Tum Haseen Main Jawaan in 1970. Dharmendra was married to Prakash Kaur at the time and had four children (Sunny, Bobby, Vijeta and Ajeeta). His bond with Hema Malini grew stronger as they worked together in films like Seeta Aur Geeta, Sholay, Jugnu and Dream Girl.

They married in 1980 despite heavy public scrutiny. Hema Malini later said the wedding was held in a traditional Iyengar ceremony to honour her roots. They became parents to two daughters, Esha and Ahana.

Final Goodbye To Dharmendra Today

Dharmendra was cremated at the Pawan Hans crematorium on 24 November. Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan attended the funeral to pay their last respects.

A prayer meet for the actor will take place today at Taj Lands End in Mumbai.

Dharmendra starred in more than 300 films and earned the title of Bollywood’s “He-Man.” His work shaped Indian cinema for over six decades. For Hema Malini, his death marks the loss of her partner, her support system and the man she calls her “everything.”
