Veteran actress and BJP MP Hema Malini has grabbed attention after travelling in an electric auto-rickshaw in Mathura as part of a fuel conservation and clean energy awareness drive. A video of the actress riding the e-auto has now gone viral on social media, sparking both appreciation and hilarious reactions from netizens.
The public awareness initiative took place after a District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting in Mathura. Hema Malini reportedly arrived at the Mathura Collectorate in an electric vehicle before accepting an invitation from Baldev MLA Puran Prakash to continue the journey in an e-auto decorated with campaign posters promoting sustainable transport.

Hema Malini Urges Citizens To Switch To Electric Vehicles
During her recent interaction with the media, Hema Malini strongly encouraged people to reduce fuel consumption and adopt electric vehicles in daily life. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent message to citizens, she highlighted the importance of conserving resources amid rising global tensions.
She said, “The Prime Minister has given such a good message. He has given seven pieces of information. First of all, don’t buy gold jewellery. Because there may be a problem in the future. He has already given the information for this”.
She further added, “And don’t use too much petrol. Don’t drive too much. Use as much petrol as possible for public service. Don’t go abroad too much. He has also told us to use less oil in food. He has told us a lot of such things. Electric vehicles also. Not petrol vehicles. Both my vehicles are electric. I will also suggest you to use electric vehicles.”
PM Modi Recently Spoke About Conserving Resources
Hema Malini’s comments came shortly after Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation and urged citizens to reduce unnecessary consumption of oil, gold, and other resources.
The appeal came amid escalating geopolitical tensions in West Asia following military conflict involving the United States, Israel and Iran. Global uncertainty has also increased concerns around fuel prices and resource availability.
