Earlier, Deepika did not share any public post for Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge, despite Ranveer playing the lead role. She was also not seen at the film’s special screening. This led to comparisons with other celebrity spouses who often promote their partner’s films on social media.
Deepika Padukone Trolled After Restaurant Outing Pic With Ranveer Singh Goes Viral
The latest trolling began after Benne restaurant shared a photo of Deepika, Ranveer and his father Jagjit Singh Bhavnani during a recent visit. The picture showed them smiling and posing with the restaurant staff.
Ranveer looked cheerful as he clicked a selfie in a black T-shirt, white cap, and sunglasses. Deepika stood next to him in a simple black outfit, flashing a peace sign. Ranveer’s father stood behind them, making it a family moment.
However, the post quickly drew negative reactions from some users. Many trolls again questioned Deepika’s silence about the film.
One user wrote, “Jealous wife trying to make him unfit for Dhurandhar 3 by feeding benne dosas.”
Another commented, “How can a wife hate her husband so much?”
Some users also criticised her for promoting a restaurant instead of the film. One comment read, “Promoting Dosa centres but not husband’s movie, very disrespectful of our culture.”
Another said, “No appreciation by cheap Deepika on Dhurandhar. She is panauti. We dont go places she promotes. She is JNU wali cheap.”
Amid the trolling, a fake Instagram screenshot recently started circulating online. It falsely claimed that Deepika Padukone had posted a negative review of Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge and disagreed with some aspects of the film.
Later, fact-checkers confirmed that the screenshot was fake. Still, the misinformation added to the ongoing debate.
At the same time, many fans supported Deepika. They said that not every form of support needs to be shown on social media. Some also pointed out that staying silent online does not mean a lack of support in real life.
Despite the criticism, Deepika appeared unaffected. She was later seen enjoying a relaxed lunch with Ranveer, smiling and spending time together. This came as Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge crossed the Rs 1,000-crore mark worldwide.
