Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 1: Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has opened far stronger than anyone expected. A day before the release, many believed the film would struggle. There was a lot of negativity online. But none of it mattered once the first shows began. The action thriller surprised both the trade and the audience with one of the strongest opening-day numbers of 2025.
Dhurandhar Box Office Collection Day 1
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Dhurandhar collected Rs 27 crore on Day 1. The film was released on 5000 screens across India on Friday, December 5. Advance bookings were not very exciting. They stood at just above Rs 9 crore. Morning shows also started slowly. Occupancy stayed under 16%. Many trade experts thought the film would finish on the lower end of predictions.
But the mood shifted quickly. As reviews and audience reactions went live, footfall began to grow. Afternoon occupancy rose to more than 28%. Evening shows picked up even more pace. Night shows pushed occupancy to around 56%. By the end of the day, Dhurandhar recorded an average occupancy of nearly 34% across 6200 shows.
The jump surprised a lot of people. Before the release, predictions sat around Rs 15–20 crore. Some even felt the film might not touch Rs 20 crore. But the final number proved everyone wrong. The opening has set the film up for a strong weekend.
For Ranveer Singh, this is a big moment. Dhurandhar is now the biggest opening of his career. It has gone past Simmba (Rs 20.72 crore), 83 (Rs 12.64 crore), and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (Rs 11.10 crore). It also beat recent hits like Saiyaara (Rs 21.50 crore) and Sikandar (Rs 26 crore).
In the 2025 list of top openers, Dhurandhar holds the third spot. Only War 2 at Rs 52 crore and Chhaava at Rs 31 crore are ahead of it.
About The Film And Part 2 Release Date
Aditya Dhar directs this power-packed action film. The cast includes Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal and R Madhavan. The story is set in Pakistan in the early 2000s. Ranveer plays Hamza, an Indian spy who enters the Karachi underworld. His mission is to dismantle the Lyari gangs. The plot draws inspiration from real events. It mixes action, drama and espionage in a tight narrative.
The film also hints at a bigger future in the climax. The post-credits scene gives fans a four-minute glimpse of Dhurandhar 2: Revenge. It shows Hamza crossing out Rehman Dakait’s (Akshaye Khanna) name in his secret diary. He then sets his eyes on new targets, including ISI officer Major Iqbal (Arjun Rampal). The scene confirms the sequel and ends with the release date of March 19, 2026.
Judging from the strong buzz and a powerful Day 1, Dhurandhar is now on track for a massive opening weekend. It may turn into one of the biggest blockbusters of 2025 if this momentum continues.
