Ranveer Singh Starrer To Drop A Recreated Version Of Punjabi Track Soon
According to industry sources, makers have planned to release a recreated version of the Punjabi song “Na Dil De Pardesi Nu” during Diwali week. The song (originally a 1995 Punjabi folk hit by Mohammad Sadiq and Ranjit Kaur) was later remixed as Jogi by Panjabi MC in 2003. The new version will feature fresh film footage.
It will further build excitement for the trailer, which is expected to be out by mid-November.
About Dhurandhar: Plot, Budget, Is It A Remake?
Dhurandhar is inspired by true events and reportedly draws from the life of Indian spy and Para Special Forces officer Major Mohit Sharma. Sharma, who was posthumously awarded the Ashok Chakra for his bravery during a 2009 counter-insurgency mission, is known for infiltrating terror networks while posing as a militant named “Iqbal.” Ranveer’s character is believed to be inspired by Sharma, giving viewers a glimpse into the intense world of covert operations.
The film may also take cues from the career of India’s National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval. Reports suggest R. Madhavan’s character reflects Doval’s early days in intelligence. The story focuses on a high-stakes mission rooted in historical intelligence operations, likely involving Indo-Pak espionage. Set reports have shown a Pakistani flag on location, hinting at missions in Pakistan and the portrayal of Indian special agents in action.
Director Aditya Dhar has a history of blending real-life events with cinematic storytelling. In Uri: The Surgical Strike, the character of Govind Bhardwaj was inspired by Doval. Dhurandhar seems to follow the same approach, mixing true events with intense action sequences.
While the exact budget is not officially confirmed, reports suggest it started at Rs 200 crore and may have risen to Rs 250 crore during production, with total costs including marketing possibly reaching Rs 280 crore. Despite its scale and grandeur,
Dhurandhar is an original film, not a remake, and is firmly rooted in real-life Indian intelligence operations and events.
