In an interview with NDTV, Sara explained that she was fully aware of the age difference and felt it was justified for the story. She also revealed that she had taken a break from social media before the film’s release, which helped her avoid the “noise” and stay focused.
She said, “All the noise (is) on social media, right? And I’m not very active. I didn’t partake in it much… I also feel everybody has an opinion. I really believe in ‘live and let live’… It’s their opinion… It doesn’t do anything to how I think… I knew the story, and I knew it was justified, and that’s it.”

Directed by Aditya Dhar, Dhurandhar (2025) is a high-octane spy thriller about a RAW agent infiltrating Karachi’s underworld. The film stars Ranveer Singh alongside Akshaye Khanna, Sanjay Dutt and R Madhavan. It was a box-office hit, crossing Rs 1200 crore worldwide.
The 20-year age gap between Ranveer Singh (40) and Sara Arjun (20) was a deliberate choice. Singh’s character (an undercover agent) uses his experience to “honey-trap” Arjun’s character (Yalina Jamali) to gather information from her father, a powerful Pakistani politician. Casting director Mukesh Chhabra said the script required a young actress to make the story believable.
