Rajpal Yadav Debt Case: A group of students from a gurukul school in Uttar Pradesh’s Shahjahanpur district recently expressed disappointment after they did not get a response from the actor. The children claim they had earlier sent him financial support while he was in jail.

The incident gained traction after a short video of the students went viral. In the clip, the children directly addressed Yadav and questioned why he had not acknowledged their gesture. The video quickly sparked conversations online, with many users reacting to the students’ heartfelt appeal.

According to school authorities, nearly 40 students from Gurukul Seva Trust collected money from their personal pocket expenses. They reportedly filled a piggy bank and sent it to Yadav’s ancestral village address in Kundra on February 21. The amount (though modest) was meant as a symbol of support.

School chairman Kumar Sagar told PTI that the students pooled their savings together. He added that some extra contribution was included before sending the package. Along with the piggy bank, the children also enclosed a letter expressing their wish to meet the actor after his release.

Viral Video Shows Children’s Appeal To Rajpal Yadav

In the widely shared 29-second viral video, the students spoke with visible emotion. They said, “Namaste Rajpal bhaiya, we have learnt that you have returned home after being released from jail. Congratulations to you. We all want to meet you and know whether you received the help we sent. If you did, why did you not respond to our letter? We are upset with you.”

The children further said that even if a meeting was not possible, the actor could have at least spoken to them.

Rajpal Yadav Responds To Controversy

Breaking his silence, Rajpal Yadav spoke to PTI over the phone. He explained that he had only recently returned home. He also said he had not yet been able to spend enough time with his family.

The actor added that he was still gathering details about those who supported him during his legal troubles.

The Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 actor said, “As far as meeting the children is concerned, I was told they were from an orphanage. In my view, if children have an ashram, they are not orphans.”

However, when informed that the students were from a gurukul school, Rajpal Yadav clarified his stance. He added, “I am a person who believes in the guru tradition, and all those children are my own. I will definitely meet them, hug them and take photographs with them.”

About The Debt Case

Yadav’s legal troubles date back to 2010. He had taken a loan of Rs 5 crore from Murali Projects Pvt Ltd to produce his film Ata Pata Laapata. After the film underperformed at the box office, the debt reportedly rose to nearly Rs 9 crore due to interest and penalties.

Following multiple cheque bounces, the Delhi High Court revoked the suspension of his sentence. On February 4, 2026, he was sent to Tihar Jail to serve a six-month sentence under the Negotiable Instruments Act.

Later, the Delhi High Court granted interim bail until March 18, 2026, after Yadav deposited an additional Rs 1.5 crore. He was released on February 17, 2026, under strict conditions, including surrendering his passport.Since his release, the actor has resumed work on Welcome to the Jungle. He has also received public support from industry colleagues.
