The Asia Cup 2025 final between India and Pakistan has already created laughter off the field. Former Pakistani pacer Shoaib Akhtar made a funny mistake on the cricket talk show Game On Hai. He said, “If Pakistan gets Abhishek Bachchan out early on in a hypothetical situation, then what is going to happen with the middle-order? Their middle-order hasn’t performed well.”

Shoaib meant Indian opener Abhishek Sharma but accidentally said Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan. The slip quickly went viral and caught the actor’s attention. Known for his humour, Junior Bachchan took a playful dig at Pakistan’s cricket team.

Replying to a news portal’s tweet, he wrote, “Sir, with all due respect… don’t think they’ll even manage that! And I’m not even good at playing cricket.”

Fans flooded social media with funny reactions. One user wrote, “Shoaib planning for Asia Cup, but looks like he’s preparing for Filmfare Awards.” Another tweeted, “Sir, Please don’t get outside your home on 28th Sep. Stay inside. Destroy their masterplan.”

A third added, “Brilliant Abhishek B, great sense of humour. You already had ample coaching & practice enough to bowl them over with your Ghoomer #Ghoomer.”

India Vs Pakistan: Asia Cup 2025 Final

On the field, India enters the final as clear favourites. The team is unbeaten in the tournament. Abhishek Sharma and Kuldeep Yadav have been in great form, with Yadav leading the wicket charts. However, India’s fielding has raised concern after 12 dropped catches, reportedly due to tricky lighting under Dubai’s “ring of fire” floodlights.

Pakistan reached the final with an 11-run win over Bangladesh. Their bowling, led by Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf, looks strong. But their middle-order remains weak and could be a problem. The final match will be played on September 28 at 14:30 GMT.
