Who Was There
Ranbir Kapoor, Yash, Sai Pallavi, Ravie Dubey and Rakul Preet Singh joined the evening. Director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra also attended.
What Was Performed
The set included a Tamil rendition of Jai Jai Ram and the powerful Ravana Tandav, according to DT Next. The soundtrack is out under the T-Series label and streams on Amazon Music.
A Rare Partnership
The score unites Rahman with Oscar-winning Hollywood composer Hans Zimmer, with lyrics by Dr Kumar Vishwas. Gulf News describes the film as Zimmer’s debut in Indian cinema. The makers say the aim is music rooted in Indian culture but universal in its appeal. Rahman said working with Zimmer had been a memorable experience.
About The Film
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. Part 1 releases worldwide on November 5, 2026. Part 2 follows during Diwali 2027. The films are planned in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Why The Music Matters
The makers have placed the soundtrack at the centre of their plan to take the epic to audiences in India and abroad. With the Rahman and Zimmer pairing, they also hope to draw viewers who rarely watch Indian mythological films.
With the release days away, audiences will soon hear the score in cinemas. Whether the two composers’ styles blend as the makers promise is something only the film can answer.
