US President Donald Trump has lashed out at comedian and host Trevor Noah following a joke at the 2026 Grammy Awards. Noah’s comment linking Trump to the Bill Clinton and the late Jeffrey Epstein sparked outrage, and the president has now threatened legal action, calling him “talentless” and a “total loser”.
The controversy began during the Grammys when Noah, hosting the show, made a joke while presenting the Song of the Year award to Billie Eilish. He suggested a connection between Trump and Epstein Island. The clip quickly went viral and drew a sharp reaction from the former president.
Donald Trump ANGRY Over Trevor Noah’s Grammys Joke
After the ceremony, Donald Trump took to his social media platform Truth Social to express his anger. He criticised both the Grammy Awards and Trevor Noah, claiming the comedian spread false information.
He wrote, “The Grammy Awards are the WORST, virtually unwatchable! CBS is lucky not to have this garbage litter their airwaves any longer. The host, Trevor Noah, whoever he may be, is almost as bad as Jimmy Kimmel at the Low Ratings Academy Awards. Noah said, INCORRECTLY about me, that Donald Trump and Bill Clinton spent time on Epstein Island,” Trump wrote, as quoted by Firstpost.
He denied the allegation and insisted he has never been to Epstein Island. Trump continued, “WRONG!!! I can’t speak for Bill, but I have never been to Epstein Island, nor anywhere close, and until tonight’s false and defamatory statement, have never been accused of being there, not even by the Fake News Media. Noah, a total loser, better get his facts straight, and get them straight fast. It looks like I’ll be sending my lawyers to sue this poor, pathetic, talentless dope of an MC, and suing him for plenty$. Ask Little George Slopadopolus, and others, how that all worked out. Also ask CBS! Get ready Noah, I’m going to have some fun with you!”

What Trevor Noah Said At 2026 Grammy Awards
During the 2026 Grammys, Trevor Noah made several jokes about Trump. While presenting Billie Eilish’s Song of the Year award, he quipped, as quoted by Variety, “There you have it, song of the year! Congratulations, Billie Eilish. Wow. That’s a Grammy that every artist wants — almost as much as Trump wants Greenland. Which makes sense because, since Epstein’s gone, he needs a new island to hang out with Bill Clinton. I told you, it’s my last year! What are you going to do about it?”
Noah also mocked Trump’s interactions with Nicki Minaj, performing a brief impression referencing her hit song “WAP”. While many praised his humour, others thought the joke crossed the line.
Social media quickly erupted following Trump’s threat to sue. Many users defended Noah’s right to satire. So far, Trevor Noah has not publicly responded to Trump’s comments or legal threat.
