Happy birthday Salman Khan: 5 times the actor played Godfather in real life

Superstar Salman Khan rang in his 55th birthday on Sunday. Known for his extraordinary screen presence and larger than life roles in films, Salman Khan’s birthday is celebrated religiously among his fans and well wishers. Over the years, fans have gathered in flocks outside Salman’s residence at Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai to lavish the actor with love and wishes on his special day. However, this year, owing to the pandemic circumstances, the actor will be keeping his birthday a close knit affair.

Salman also shares good relationship with many of his industry colleagues. Some appreciate him for his kindness while others have termed him their godfather as well. Well, given the size of his stardom, it cannot be denied that the actor has guided many actors in their career paths.

An A-lister, Katrina Kaif is possibly one of the best female celebrity figures in India. Her dedication to her work and her commitment to excel is something that have made her an absolute favourite among Indian audience. Katrina came into limelight when she starred with Salman Khan in Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya and subsequently made a place for herself in industry with yet another Salman Khan film Partner. Although once a rumoured couple have now broken up, their warm friendship is still one of the bests we have had in Bollywood.

2. Govinda

Govinda might be an institution in himself, but his ship also sank after a fairly successful run in the 90s. In the 2000s, the actor could hardly make it to the silver screen until Salman gave his career a boost with Partner. Not only Salman helped him financially, but also put himself in the backseat in the film so that Govinda could shine. According to rumours abuzz, Salman also urged a few dance reality shows to include Govinda in the judges’ panel.

3. Suniel Shetty

Despite his stardom owing to the iconic films he has given Bollywood, actor Suniel Shetty also faced a dark time after some back-to-back flops. Salman Khan came to his rescue and signed him for Jai Ho wherein the actor featured as a military officer.

In a recent interview, speaking length about the actor, Suniel Shetty said that Salman Khan is the most misunderstood human being in Bollywood. “Recommending each other that oh I can’t do this film, talk to Suniel he will be damn good for it. It is only when you are comfortable in your own space. I always say he’s the most misunderstood human being in this industry, I am not saying this now, I have been saying this for the last 10 years when he was being hit at peak that yeh aisa hai ya vaisa hai but insaan bahot acha hai,” he said.

4. Aayush Sharma

If we know Aayush Sharma, it is definitely because of Salman Khan. The Loveratri actor is married to Salman’s sister Arpita Khan and made his debut in Bollywood post marriage. While it takes actors a decade and a couple of films to feature along with Salman Khan, Aayush is all set to star alongside the superstar in his only second film Antim.

5. Bobby Deol

Bobby Deol stayed away from limelight for a long time and marked his return with Salman Khan starrer Race 3 which was a box office hit. His performance in the film showed us that the actor still has so much to offer on the acting front and also bagged him a couple of roles. In the recent, the actor garnered spotlight for his web-series Aashram.
