Bollywood fans are in for some laughs as the year winds down. Aamir Khan and Vir Das have released a hilarious promo for their new film, Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos. The comedy spy thriller also marks Vir Das’ first time directing a film, after years of entertaining audiences with his comedy shows.
The video was shared on both actors’ social media. It starts with Aamir sitting across from Vir during a test screening. Right away, it’s clear that Aamir is not happy. He begins by playfully thrashing Vir. Then the video goes into a flashback to explain why.

Aamir Khan points out the lack of action and says, “Kya banaya hai tune? Yeh film hai? Tune bola tha action hai film, spy thriller hai film. Kaha hai action?” Vir defends himself and replies, “There is action in the film, sir; there are a lot of fights.”
Aamir gets annoyed and responds, “You call this action? You, the hero of the film, are getting beaten throughout the film, and you call this action? Tujhe stand-up comedy hi karna chahiye yaar.”
The fun continues with Aamir highlighting the missing romance. Even the female lead ends up thrashing Vir instead of showing any romance. Aamir is also irritated that there is no proper ‘item’ song. He jokes that the one musical number has only Vir in women’s clothing.
You will laugh out loud watching the actor say, “Flop! This film is a flop. In a few minutes, these people will come out of the screening and will curse at us.”
Aamir Justifies Laal Singh Chaddha Failure
As the video continues, Vir reminds Aamir that everyone has a few flops, even him (referencing Laal Singh Chaddha). But Aamir keeps beating him and says, “Ek film kya flop bana di, sabke sab peeche padh gaye hai.”
The promo ends on a happy note. The screening finishes, and the excited crowd comes out, enjoying the quirky spy-comedy. Aamir takes credit for the action, romance and ‘item’ song, leaving Vir looking confused. A short preview also teases scenes with Vir Das, Aamir Khan and Imran Khan.
Not much is known about the film yet. As per IMDb, the cast of Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos also includes Sanjay Dutt, Mona Singh, Priyanshu Chatterjee and Preity Zinta.
