After much wait, Akshay Kumar’s Housefull 5 trailer finally dropped today amid huge fan excitement. The latest instalment of this popular comedy series hits theatres on June 6. It promises a fresh mix of laughs, mystery, and a huge star cast. Akshay leads the star cast joined by Abhishek Bachchan and Riteish Deshmukh and others.

For the fifth instalment, the story unfolds on a luxury cruise ship. A billionaire throws a lavish party for his 100th birthday. But things take a dark turn when he plans to announce his will and then suddenly dies. The film feels like a crazy blend of Hollywood’s Murder Mystery and Knives Out. The three heroes become suspects but can’t remember anything because someone drugged their drinks.

Jackie Shroff and Sanjay Dutt come in as investigators to solve this mysterious murder case. The trailer also shows off quirky humour, like Jackie cracking jokes about his son Tiger Shroff and Akshay getting slapped by mischievous monkeys. For Akshay Kumar, Housefull 5 is his second major franchise after OMG 2, where he had a memorable cameo. The previous four Housefull films, directed by Sajid Khan and Farhad Samji, earned around Rs 800 crore worldwide.

Tarun Mansukhani directs the film. He previously helmed Dostana and Drive. Alongside Akshay, the cast includes Sanjay Dutt, Fardeen Khan, Shreyas Talpade, Nana Patekar, Jackie Shroff, Jacqueline Fernandez, Nargis Fakhri, Chitrangada Singh, and more.
