Don 3 is put on hold after Ranveer Singh‘s exit from this Farhan Akhtar directorial. This has once again brought Jee Le Zaraa into focus. Weeks after reports claimed Ranveer Singh exited Don 3, fresh updates suggest that Farhan has decided not to rush the project.
Instead, the filmmaker is reportedly turning his attention to Jee Le Zaraa, the road-trip drama announced in 2021. The film stars Priyanka Chopra, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif and fans have been waiting for an update for a long time.
According to reports, the decision has been taken carefully, keeping the legacy of the Don franchise in mind.
Farhan Akhtar Puts Don 3 On Hold
As per a PinkVilla report, Farhan Akhtar does not want to finalise the casting of Don 3 in a hurry. He believes the role of Don is extremely important and needs the right actor.
DON'T MISS
A source told the portal, “Farhan feels the casting of Don is crucial. He wants to be absolutely sure about who steps into the role, and it is a longer process.”
Because of this, Don 3 has been temporarily paused. With more time available, Farhan has reportedly decided to revisit Jee Le Zaraa, a project that is said to be very close to him.
Another insider revealed, “Jee Le Zaraa has always been special for Farhan. With Don 3 taking time at the casting stage, he felt this was the right moment to revive discussions with the original team and push the film forward.”
Jee Le Zaraa Update: Script Ready, Dates Awaited
According to reports, the script of Jee Le Zaraa has already been finalised. Creatively, the film is ready to go. However, the main reason for the delay has been scheduling issues.
All three lead actresses have packed work calendars, which has made it difficult to align dates. Despite this, discussions are now back on track.
Sources added, “If the dates align, the film could finally go on floors in the second half of 2026. Creatively, everything is in place, and it’s now about managing schedules. Farhan has started discussions with all three actresses and is hopeful their timelines can align. Everyone is keen, it’s just about finding that common window.”
Earlier, Farhan Akhtar also spoke about the delay in an interview with The Hindu. He said, “The astronomy of it is all messed up: my rahu is in my ketu (laughs). Unfortunately, it will take more time. I am optimistic that it will happen when it has to happen. There is a time for everything. I don’t want to stress out over this one project. I have other things to do (like Don 3 with Ranveer Singh).”
For now, there is no official confirmation from the makers. Still, with Don 3 on hold and fresh discussions around Jee Le Zaraa, fans are hopeful that the long-delayed film may finally move closer to production.
