Tamannaah Bhatia is known for her confidence, fitness and glamour on screen. But behind the spotlight, the Baahubali star recently shared a more personal story. In a chat with Harper’s Bazaar, she opened up about her weight struggles during the COVID-19 lockdown and the pressure to look perfect.
Tamannaah Bhatia On Her Body Weight
Tamannaah started acting at a young age and said she has always been comfortable with her body. She said, “Till my late 20s, I was a slender body type. That was always my body. This body in which I am right now is technically not new to me. I have grown up like this, and I have stayed like this.”
But things changed during the pandemic. Like many people, she found it tough to stay fit while being indoors. She recalled, “While doing all those healthy things, I still had to face the camera, and I began to feel that I don’t want to be conscious of feeling a certain size, and I’m constantly trying to correct it. I’m feeling like – Oh, is my tummy outside? Because at some point, my tummy was coming out, and I was thinking – What is happening to my body?”
Actress Slams Trolls Accusing Her Of Using Ozemic For Weight Loss
Social media trolls often target celebrities for any body change. Some even accused Tamannaah Bhatia of using Ozempic, a drug linked to quick weight loss. She dismissed those claims, saying her transformation was natural and the result of consistent effort.
Without naming the trolls, she spoke about accepting her natural curves. “I went through the same in my early 30s and my curves are not going anywhere. My curves are not going anywhere because I am Sindhi. That hip and waist is not going anywhere because that is bone structure.”
Tamannaah also said she will never try to fit into global beauty standards. She added, “I don’t think you will ever see me following global beauty standards because it’s aspirational to be Indian, people love our curves, and I think it’s time that we should embrace that.”
She also opened up about dealing with inflammation and how it affects women differently. The actress said every woman experiences body changes and should learn to accept them. She proudly said, “That hip and waist is not going anywhere because that is bone structure.”
Recently, she made headlines for her bold appearance in Aryan Khan’s directorial The Ba***ds of Bollywood. Her stylish look in the special number went viral online.
Now, Tamannaah Bhatia will be seen in Ranger with Ajay Devgn and VVAN alongside Sidharth Malhotra.
