She took to her Instagram story and wrote her thoughts and urged the northeasterns to stand together and she supports them. Chum wrote, 'Disrespecting someone's identity & name is not 'fun.' Mocking someone's achievements is not a 'banter.' It's time we draw the line between humour and hate.' Further Chum Darang talked about Sanjay Leela Bhansali. She said, 'What's even more disappointing is that it's not just about my ethnicity, my hard work and a film backed by visionary like Sanjay Bhansali was also disrespected.' Chum also expressed her concern about the other northeastern who have faced this. And, the actress urged them to raise their voice and embrace their culture.
