The 65-second clip offers a powerful glimpse into Vijay’s final film before he enters full-time politics. Fans are calling the teaser “emotional,” “powerful,” and “a perfect send-off.”
The teaser starts with Vijay’s voice in the background, followed by visuals of him walking through a destroyed battlefield in a police uniform. He holds a lathi and a blood-stained sword. A message on screen highlights his role as a leader who stands for the people. The video mixes action and politics, giving a strong nod to Vijay’s real-life shift into politics.

Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is a political action thriller. The film will hit theatres on January 9, 2026, during Pongal. This marks Vijay’s last movie before stepping into politics. The teaser starts with “En Nenjil Kudiyirikum” (you people will always live in my heart). It’s a phrase he often uses in his public speeches.
Vijay appears as a tough cop in a war-like setting. Anirudh Ravichander’s background music adds intensity, with the “Thalapathy” chant in the background. This marks their fifth film together after Kaththi, Master, Beast, and Leo.

Coming back to the film, Jana Nayagan stars Pooja Hegde opposite Vijay. The cast also includes Bobby Deol, Priyamani, Prakash Raj, Narain, Mamitha Baiju, and Gautham Vasudev Menon. Cinematography is by Sathyan Sooryan, editing by Pradeep E. Ragav, and stunts by Anal Arasu. The film is backed by KVN Productions, who is also producing Yash’s Toxic.
