The buzz around Jana Nayagan has taken a negative turn after a major leak surfaced online. The film is important as it is expected to be the final movie of Thalapathy Vijay before he shifts focus to politics.
A five-minute clip from the film has reportedly been leaked. It includes the title credits and Vijay’s entry scene. Soon after it appeared online, the clip spread quickly across platforms. This has left fans upset and the makers under pressure.
Jana Nayagan Leak Sparks Strong Reactions Online
As the clip went viral, many fans reacted strongly on social media. A large number of users asked others not to watch or share the leaked footage. Some also tagged the production house and demanded action.
One fan wrote, “This farewell feels completely ruined, seeing him end his career like this is one of the worst things to watch.” Another said, “Nanba and Nanbis don’t share leaked Clips.”
Another commented. “Anyone who is resharing will be booked and arrested. Do not share. Strength to the team.” One more added, “Please don’t anyone download and try it…”
At the same time, some viewers compared the leaked scene to Bhagavanth Kesari. One user wrote, “Feeling sad for the producers and Vijay !! But if you ask me, the movie is an exact copy of Bhagavanth Kesari. Bro even copied the dialogue ‘I Don’t Care’ exactly..”

Director H Vinoth also posted a message on Instagram. He wrote, “Every scene carries someone’s dream. The leak before release is truly painful. Please support by not sharing it.”

Jana Nayagan Controversy And Release Delay
The leak comes at a time when Jana Nayagan is already facing multiple issues. The film has been delayed due to problems with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
The film was earlier set to release on January 9, 2026. However, it ran into trouble over scenes linked to sensitive topics like religious harmony and the portrayal of the Indian Armed Forces. A single judge of the Madras High Court had allowed a U/A 16+ certificate, but this was later set aside after the CBFC challenged the decision.
The case even reached the Supreme Court, which chose not to intervene. After that, the producers withdrew their petition in February 2026 and agreed to go through the CBFC’s revision process.
There were more complications when the film was sent to the Election Commission of India due to its political content, especially with the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections approaching. Reports now suggest the film may be released in early May 2026 or later.
Amid these delays, the leak has added more pressure on the team.
About The Film
Directed by H Vinoth, Jana Nayagan is a political action thriller. The story follows a former police officer, ASP Vetri Kondan, played by Vijay. He gets pulled into a conflict involving power and ideology.
The film shows a clash between two strong personalities — one who claims to fight for the people and another who seeks control. Their past rivalry comes back in a tense situation.
