Dulquer Salmaan and Samuthirakani starrer Kaantha Trailer is finally here. The film (directed by Selvamani Selvaraj) dives into the story of a student turning against his mentor. It’s a tale of pride, power and betrayal that’s already getting attention online.
What’s In Kaantha Trailer?
The trailer opens with chaos on the sets of a film called Shaantha. It is directed by Ayya (Samuthirakani) and stars “Nata Chakravarthi/Chandran” TK Mahadeva (Dulquer Salmaan). But things take a twist when Dulquer’s character takes over as director and renames the project Kaantha. His ego and hurt pride push him to challenge the man who made him a star.
Bhagyashri Borse plays Kumari, the leading lady of Shaantha. She stands by her director Ayya and refuses to follow Chandran’s lead. This creates more tension on set. The story heats up further when a policeman (played by Rana Daggubati) enters the frame with more mystery and drama.
The trailer gives a glimpse of the emotional and mental clash between the two men. They once respected each other, but now they are trapped in a fight for control and legacy. It will leave you asking – what caused the rift, and why did Shaantha turn into Kaantha?
Dulquer shared the trailer on social media and wrote, “The world of Kaantha unfolds today!”
More About The Film
Kaantha looks at how ego and ambition can destroy relationships. It follows the fall of a director and his star disciple, both desperate to prove themselves. Dulquer and Samuthirakani’s strong performances bring intensity to this mentor-student war.
The teaser had already hinted at their conflict, but the trailer confirms the fight will go beyond words. With sharp dialogues and tense scenes, the film promises a gripping watch.
The film’s cinematography is by Dani Sanchez-Lopez, who earlier worked with Dulquer on Mahanati (2018). His visuals give the story a rich, cinematic feel. The music by Jhanu Chanthar adds more emotion to the drama. Songs like “Panimalare,” “Kanmani Nee” and “Rage of Kaantha” are already trending among fans.
Kaantha was earlier set to release in September but was postponed to give Dulquer’s production Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra more time in theatres. It will now release on November 14 in Tamil, with dubbed versions in Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
