Kajol and Ajay Devgn have found themselves in the middle of a fresh social media storm. Fans are linking Ajay’s recent comment about love losing its meaning to Kajol’s bold take on marriage having an “expiry date.” The reactions have been sharp, and some users have even gone as far as calling Kajol a “red flag.”

Here’s What Happened

It started when Kajol appeared on Two Much with Twinkle Khanna, Vicky Kaushal, and Kriti Sanon. During a light segment, Twinkle asked, “Should marriage have an expiry date and a renewal option?” Kajol stepped into the green zone and said yes.

She later explained, “I definitely think so. What guarantees that you’ll marry the right person at the right time? A renewal option would make sense and if there’s an expiry date, no one has to suffer for too long.”

Her answer instantly kicked off online discussions. Some felt she was being honest about modern relationships. Others thought she was hinting at her own marriage. But things escalated when Ajay Devgn shared his own views in a different interview.

Ajay, speaking on BookMyShow’s YouTube channel while promoting De De Pyaar De 2 with R Madhavan, said he feels the meaning of love has faded today. He said, “From what I see, it has become more casual than it was. The word ‘love’ has been used so much unnecessarily that it has lost its meaning. In our generation, saying ‘I love you’ was a big deal. Now people don’t understand the depth of that word, it’s overused.”

Madhavan agreed and said that even signing a card “with love” used to feel serious. Ajay added that now every message ends with a heart emoji or the word “love,” which, in his view, reduces the emotion behind it.

This comment immediately triggered reactions online. Many users connected his words to Kajol’s earlier remark, even though the two spoke in completely different contexts. Check out some online use reactions below:

“Expiry date ka kya.”

“They are trying to destroy Indian culture.”

“Kajol thinking to switch to SRK.”

“Divorce kab hai?”

“Kajol is red flag.”

“Ajay to mujhe shadi ki din bhi kajol ke sath khush nahi lagrahee.”

“Noone takes love as lightly as Devgan himself..”

“Love hasn’t lost anything you have lost it!”

“She just told the truth about her marriage cause she compromised with the fact that her husband is a cheater and she can’t do anything about it.”

Kajol and Ajay did not react to any of the trolling. The couple has faced similar noise before. Their love story began on the sets of Hulchul in 1995. After four years of dating, they married in 1999 in a quiet ceremony. They have since worked together in films like Pyaar To Hona Hi Tha, Raju Chacha, and Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. They share two children (Nysa and Yug) and often talk about the respect and space that keep their relationship steady.
