In a strong response to recent allegations, popular Indian actor and politician Kangana Ranaut has firmly dismissed rumors about her consuming beef. Contesting the Lok Sabha elections on a BJP ticket from Mandi constituency, Ranaut took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to assert her Hindu identity and denounce the “shameful and baseless” claims.
Ranaut’s Unwavering Hindu Identity
Addressing the speculations, the outspoken actress declared, “I don’t consume beef or any other kind of red meat. It is shameful that completely baseless rumors are being spread about me.” She further emphasized her long-standing advocacy and promotion of a “yogic and Ayurvedic way of life” and reaffirmed her pride in her Hindu faith, stating, “I am a proud Hindu and nothing can ever mislead my people.”
Refuting Beef Consumption Allegations
The statement from Ranaut comes in response to allegations made by Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar, who claimed that the BJP candidate had previously admitted to liking and eating beef. Wadettiwar, the leader of the opposition in the Maharashtra state assembly, made these remarks during a political rally.
BJP’s Retaliation
Reacting to the allegations, BJP spokesperson Keshav Upadhye condemned the Congress party’s actions, stating, “This reflects Congress’ dirty culture. It cannot fight us on issues. This shows the party’s defeatist mentality.”
