Arvind Kejriwal: AAP introduced the ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’ theme on Monday in anticipation of the Lok Sabha elections. The statement was made one day after the party observed a 24-hour fast in support of Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal, who is currently incarcerated.

Sandeep Pathak’s Assertion

AAP MP Sandeep Pathak, speaking during a press conference on Monday, said “As you all saw that Kejriwal ji was put in jail to keep him away from the elections. Kejriwal ji spent his entire life struggling for the people. He considered all people of Delhi as his family and made arrangements for best education, health, electricity and water for all.”

Door-to-Door Campaign

He said, “We will carry our ‘Jail Ka Jawab Vote Se’ campaign to every home in Delhi.” “This campaign has started from today itself. Our workers are campaigning with the slogan from today on the 4 seats in Delhi where AAP is contesting,” the AAP MP said.

Prior to this, prominent AAP leaders fasted for a full day at Jantar Mantar in protest of Kejriwal’s ED arrest. They also declared that the public will hold the BJP accountable for Kejriwal’s imprisonment in the next Lok Sabha elections.

AAP’s Bold Challenge

In addition, the leaders of the AAP challenged the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is now in power at the Centre, to impose President’s rule in Delhi, threatening to eradicate the saffron party from the nation’s capital. Numerous AAP activists and supporters participated in the fast, carrying banners with an image of Kejriwal in prison and singing patriotic songs.

AAP leaders said that similar demonstrations were held by Indians overseas and in other states, such as at Harvard Square in Boston, the Hollywood Sign in Los Angeles, outside the Indian embassy in Washington, DC, Times Square in New York, Toronto, London, and Melbourne.
