Karuppu Teaser: ‘Violent’ Suriya Appears In Two Different Avatars, Reminds Us Of Ghajini In RJ Balaji-Directed Action Film - WATCH

The teaser for Karuppu was released on 23 July on Suriya’s birthday and is already trending on social media. Directed by RJ Balaji, the film shows Suriya in an intense, action-packed look that reminds fans of his iconic Ghajini (2005) performance. Trisha Krishnan stars alongside Suriya, reuniting with him after years, which has added to the buzz.

 Karuppu Teaser Shows Suriya In Two Avatars

The teaser opens with a voiceover about a fierce deity worshipped with chillies, setting a raw tone. Suriya appears in two very different looks.

One is Saravanan, a lawyer dressed in white, who hints at having another identity. The other is a violent version of him, dressed in black and holding an aruval (sickle), showing a dangerous side. Fans are now guessing if Suriya plays two roles or one man leading a double life.

In one scene, the lawyer character references the song Oru Maalai from Ghajini. This mix of nostalgia and high-energy action has impressed fans, who say Suriya’s Karuppu look reminds them of his past intense roles.

Trisha Krishnan’s role is still under wraps, but her pairing with Suriya has fans excited. The duo has delivered several hits in the past, and their reunion is being eagerly awaited.

The music is by Sai Abhyankar, and fans expect a powerful soundtrack to match the film’s dark tone. Though the release date is not yet confirmed, the teaser has set high expectations.
