Big B said, “Ye koi choti baat nahi hain, Manyavar. Iss tarah ki film banana aur usko itna safal banana… ye bada kathin kaam hota hai. Badi tab nahi banti hai jab ye log sochte hain. Ye log banate hai aur badi ho jati hai.” (To mount a film like this and make it so successful… it is a difficult task. A film doesn’t become big just because someone plans, it becomes big when it is made.)

Rishab Shetty also shared how he made the films differently. He used real locations for the shoot and involved many of his childhood friends, who now work in the railways or on farms. He said their families moved to the village, and even the children went to local schools during the filming.

The actor explained, “Last Kantara bhi udhar hi shoot kiya tha, mere ghar ke aaju baju mein location ka set dalke. Mere bachpan ke dost, jo abhi railways mein aur khet mein kaam karte hain, woh sab hum milke hi kaam karte hain. Pure iss 5 saal mein ye Kantara ke 2 part kiye hain. Pure family ko gaav le jakar udhar hi settle ho gaye aur bachhonko bhi udhar hi school mein dal diya, because of the cinema. To ye film sirf entertainment ke liye nahi hai, iske region mein economy mein bhi fayda ho raha hai.”

Produced by Hombale Films, Kantara Chapter 1 was released on October 2 and is a prequel to the 2022 Kannada hit Kantara. The film is set in the 4th Century AD and explores the mystical land of Kantara, its sacred origins, rich mythology, and age-old conflicts. It blends folklore, faith, and divine interventions into an engaging story. The cast also includes Gulshan Devaiah, Rukmini Vasanth, and Jayaram.

The film has been a massive success at the box office and is heading towards the Rs 500 crore mark in India.

Meanwhile, Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 airs from Monday to Friday on Sony TV.
