Kalyani Priyadarshan’s Lokah Chapter 1 – Chandra has turned into an unexpected box office winner. Released on August 28, just before Onam, the Malayalam superhero film has quickly built momentum and has even crossed even better than the much-hyped Bollywood release Param Sundari.

According to Sacnilk, Lokah Chapter 1 has earned Rs 38.95 crore net in India within six days. On Tuesday (Day 6), it added Rs 7.35 crore, showing strong weekday numbers despite the usual Monday slowdown.
The film began with Rs 2.7 crore on Thursday, then grew steadily to Rs 4 crore on Friday. Saturday saw Rs 7.6 crore, while Sunday peaked at Rs 10.1 crore. Even Monday held well at Rs 7.2 crore, proving the film’s strong hold in cinemas.
This rise has pushed Lokah Chapter 1 ahead of Param Sundari, starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor. With a Hindi release on the way, its box office journey looks set to grow even bigger.
Dulquer Salmaan has produced the film. He recently shared, “The world of Lokah – Chapter One: Chandra, is expanding. Hindi version releases in theatres on September 4th! Book your tickets now.”
Fans had been asking for a Hindi release since day one, and now the film is expected to attract an even wider audience across India.

Lokah Chapter 1 has defeated another Malayalam release by a huge margin. It’s none other than Mohanlal’s comedy film Hridayapoorvam. Both the films were released on the same day, but Mohanlal’s starrer has collected just Rs 16.25 cr in six days.
