‘Make the Government Accountable’: Actor Prakash Raj to Participate in Bengaluru CJP Protest Amid NEET, OSM Controversy

Veteran actor and activist Prakash Raj has announced he is travelling to Bengaluru to join the Cockroach Janta Party's peaceful protest, calling on citizens to raise their voice and "make the government accountable" amid the ongoing NEET and CBSE OSM controversy.

Prakash Raj: Veteran actor Prakash Raj has confirmed he will travel to Bengaluru to take part in a peaceful demonstration organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). In a post shared on social media, the actor wrote that he was making his way to the city to support what he called a “relevant peaceful protest,” urging followers to join in and raise their voice to make the government accountable for its failure.

Background of the CJP Movement

The CJP, an online youth-led political movement, has been holding a series of protests across the country demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. The group accuses the government of failing to address serious irregularities linked to the NEET UG paper leak and alleged problems with the CBSE on-screen marking, or OSM, system used in the evaluation of board exam papers.

Wider Protest Tour Across Cities

The Bengaluru demonstration is part of a broader CJP campaign that has already taken the movement to Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, Pune and Lucknow, among other locations. Earlier, Prakash Raj had expressed solidarity with the Delhi leg of the protest through a social media post after a follower pointed out his absence from that event.

Actor’s History of Activism

Prakash Raj is no stranger to public activism. He has long run a campaign called “Just Asking,” which encourages citizens to question authorities on matters of public interest. His decision to join the Bengaluru protest adds celebrity visibility to a movement that has largely been driven by students, job aspirants, and young professionals concerned about transparency in examination systems.

The protest comes amid sustained national debate over examination irregularities, with opposition leaders, education activists, and now public figures joining calls for accountability from the central government on issues affecting millions of students preparing for competitive exams across India.
