Heeramandi first look: Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s next project Heeramandi is one of the most anticipated films of 2023. On Saturday streaming platform Netflix gave us a glimpse of the beautiful and magnificent world of Heeramandi.
Bhansali has given us some classic movies to the world including Bajirao Mastani, Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, Devdas among others. His last release Gangubai Kathiawadi starring Alia Bhatt was a hit and was praised by viewers and critics as well. The film not only took became a blockbuster in the domestic market, it also performed well internationally. And now all eyes are on his next project Heeramandi as we come to know that Jackie Shroff will also be part of the film’s star enemble .
Heeramandi announced in 2022
Ever since the show was announced in August 2022, fans have been waiting with bated breath to experience the grandeur the bygone era and the first look of the beautiful and magnificent world of Heeramandi is bound to take your breath away.
In the teaser the master director Sanjay Leela Bhansali takes you inside the time when courtesans were queens. A lot was being speculated about the cast of the show but today, the first look has cleared all the air. The teaser begins with Manisha Koirala, all decked up and looking royal in traditional attire. Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chaddha, Sharmin Segal, Sanjeeda Shaikh all look stunning.
Another time, another era
Sharing this teaser, Netflix wrote, “Another time, another era, another magical world created by Sanjay Leela Bhansali we can’t wait to be a part of. Here is a glimpse into the beautiful and intriguing world of #Heeramandi. Coming soon!”

Heeramandi is Bhansali’s most ambitious project. A large set of the film has been created in Filmcity at the same spot where Gangubai Kathiawadi’s set was erected. And as always is with Bhansali movies, music is going to be an important part of the narrative. SLB’s passion for music is no secret and reports say, this time too he has been personally involved in every composition.
