The incident took place at DAV PG College in Dehradun, where the singer allegedly used abusive language on stage during a live show. The event saw a large crowd in attendance, with Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar also present on stage. Reports suggest that Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami was at the venue earlier. However, the situation reportedly escalated after his exit, and Masoom Sharma lost his temper during the performance.

In the now-viral video, Masoom Sharma can be seen addressing an alleged threat from a person he referred to as a “gunda.” While speaking to the audience, he said, “Maine usse kaha, main Dehradun mein perform kar raha hoon, himmat hai toh yahan aa jao. Haryana chhodkar yahan aao, appointment lo.”

He reportedly used strong and offensive language while making these remarks. This behaviour has drawn criticism, especially because the incident happened during a public college event. Soon after, the video gained traction online, leading to widespread debate around on-stage conduct.
Following the controversy, Dehradun Police have launched an investigation into the matter. The use of abusive language in a public setting has raised concerns, and authorities are now looking into the incident.
Apology After Controversy
After facing backlash, Masoom Sharma released a video explaining his side of the story. He said that he was under stress due to a threatening situation before the show. According to him, he had arrived in Dehradun a day earlier and was staying at a hotel when his team informed him about a suspicious person moving around.
He further shared that his cousin in the United States received a call from the same individual, who allegedly behaved rudely. This incident reportedly caused panic within his team. Masoom Sharma said they were unable to sleep the entire night due to the stress.
The singer admitted that his anger carried onto the stage. He also mentioned that he tried calling the person again, but did not receive any response. As a result, he expressed his frustration during the live performance.
In his apology, he stated that his reaction was a mistake. He added that if his words hurt anyone, he sincerely apologises for it. The singer emphasised that he did not intend to offend his audience.
Previous Controversy Of Masoom Sharma
This is not the first time Masoom Sharma has been involved in a public controversy. Earlier in February 2026, a video from Jind also went viral. In that instance, he made remarks about not recognising titles like Sarpanch, MLA or Minister on his stage.
He also used a Haryanvi proverb involving “70 sarpanches,” which upset several local leaders. Later, he clarified that the comments were made during an “ego clash” due to overcrowding on stage.
